12. Shampooing
Before hair wetting, it should be brushed or combed in a thorough way in order to have dirt and dead skin cells removed from the head. Then the hair is to be wet so, that the underneath layers are saturated with water as much as the top.
About 1 teaspoon of shampoo should be poured in a little water in order to get a diluted solution, which the hair roots are to be massaged in a gentle way. The massage is to be conducted with the help of fingertips, and it is to cover the whole scalp.
The shampoo is to be worked with the flat surface of the hand into the bulk of the hair over the top layers.
After all this it is necessary to rinse the hair thoroughly with warm or cool water (never apply hot water) until all the shampoo has been washed off completely.
In case of necessity the procedure is to be repeated.
13. Drying your Hair
It is extremely important to keep in mind that wet hair can lose up to 25 percent of its elasticity, and along with it much of its natural resilience. This is why after washing it is to be treated in the gentlest way. Here are some wet hair tips:
The excess of water is to be squeezed out, then the hair should be wrapped loosely into a clean towel, so, that that there would be turban – like.
The towel is to be pressed against the head in the firm way. NEVER rub hair vigorously!
In case if a blow dryer is applied, it is necessary to capitalize on the control and minimize on the damage. For this:
the drying procedure should never be started up until the hair is at least three quarters dry;
the dryer may not be hold over one area of the head for any long period of time;
it is necessary not to let the scalp get hot;
the hair should be persuaded in a gentle way into the style, one desires; and it can be achieved with the help of a brush;
the dryer is to be turned off as soon as the hair becomes dry, and never continue to blow dry on to the hair, which is already dry.
14. Brushing and combing
The hair should only be brushed or combed, if it is dry, because wet hair brushing can become the reason of split ends;
The head should be tilted forward, while the hair is brushed, because this will provide the blood flow supply to the head, which will stimulate the hair growth;
No sharp teethed brush it to be ever applied, because it can tear the hair apart;
In case of fine hair, somewhat softer brush should to be applied;
In case of thick long hair, somewhat bigger brush with stiff bristles should be applied;
For combing wet hair, only a wide teethed brush or comb can applied, though it is not advisable to comb or brush wet hair at all;
The best way to comb out tangled hair is considered to begin combing from the ends and work gradually in an upward direction.
