Here are some hair care tips on how to save your hair healthy in the winter and protect if from dryness and loosing its gloss.

1. Shampoo your hair less. Winter air and central heating dry hair more, than summer heat. It is better to use moisturizing shampoo in winter combined with right styling products. Try to wash your hair more rarely. One or two more days between washes are great opportunity for your hair to have a rest from mechanical and thermal damages (water, cleaning elements in shampoo, hair dryer).

You can use your normal conditioner and additionally use leave-on conditioning oil or spray for dry ends softening and split ends prevention. In order to increase flexibility and strength, keep moisturizing conditioner for a little bit longer as usual once a week.

3. The majority of hairdressers recommend using smoothing and moisturizing shampoos and other hair products (including conditioners) to prevent hair dryness. They advise to apply moisturizing oils and balsams from the middle to the ends and then use hair dryer or flat-iron for divided parts of hair. Also one should never direct the air flow up against hair growth direction. Try to protect your hair against the rain and snow.

4. In the winter scalp skin becomes drier and more sensitive to cold nasty weather and central heating. This is the tome then you can feel itch and skin irritation.
