Dandruff

Dandruff

Dandruff is a widespread hair problem which often occurs. Dandruff appears every 28 days, it is caused by dead skin cells which appear on the scalp’s skin. On the skin there are bacteria and fungi available, they live consuming the oils which produce the hair follicles of our scalp. In the case of scalp irritation with the fungus the dead skin sheds intensively. The scalp’s skin produces the oil which unites the dead skin cells together and leads to the appearance of dandruff.

There are some measures of the dandruff’s prevention. One of them is daily shampooing of your hair. If it doesn’t help you should shampoo your hair with anti-dandruff shampoos with such components as zinc pyrithione, selenium sulfide, salicylic acid or ketoconazole. Anti-dandruff shampoos should be changed at least once a month because the scalp quickly gets used to them. You should shampoo your hair twice. When you wash your hair for the first time, the procedure clears the scalp of the flakes. The second wash eases the entrance of the chemicals into the scalp. The homemade remedies can also be effectively used. You should mix two teaspoons of vinegar with six teaspoons of water and rub the mixture into your scalp, then wrap your head with a towel and go to sleep. It is good for your hair to be washed with vinegar and rinsed with water. The smell of vinegar is temporary and quickly disappears.

For the treatment of dandruff such herbal shampoos can be used:
1) Boil 4 tablespoons dried thyme for 10 minutes in 2 cups of water. Strain and let cool the mixture, then massage it onto clean damp hair and leave it on your hair for 1 hour then wash it off with warm water.
2) Beat 2 egg yolks in a half cup of water, massage the mixture onto hair and scalp for 5 minutes. Then wash the mixture off with water and finish the procedure with a mixture of 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and water.

In the case of dandruff you should not scratch the clumps with your fingernails because it leads to the appearance of wounds on your scalp. Dandruff is cured, but it is better to prevent it than to cure.
